What is it? This is a surgery technique very minimal invasive useful to treat deformities of the forefoot. With traditional methods we do big incisions to have access to deep places where we find foot bones and where we make surgical corrections. With percutaneous surgery, the cut is very small (half centimetre maximum) and trough it we can introduce proper tools, scalpels, drills, etc…with these tools and with the help of an special device of X-rays we do all the surgical corrections that we need for the deformed bones of the feet. |

Any surgical technique is potentially good if is done by an expert surgeon in it, in a proper environment and after doing a satisfactory follow up for the requirements of the patient. Despite of this, any surgical procedure is susceptible to fail or end with complications. Doctors´ job consist in fighting to minimize these cases and to make a big effort in solving the problems if they come. In forefoot surgery we get excellent results as well in opened form as with percutaneous surgery if we follow the previous premises. The election of one procedure or another depends of two actors: the patient and the doctor. |
