It is considered a minor deformity, the
ones we called positional (bad postures). The baby presents a bending foot
in a dorsal´s direction.
-
In the majority of the cases they get
cured alone, without doing anything.
-
When the foot is less flexible we
recommend to make manipulations in the sole’s direction, three times a
day.
-
The most severe cases we treat them
with a small splint (an orthopaedics device) during two months.
It is necessary not to confuse this
deformity with a very severe congenital malformation called “congenital
flat foot vertical talus”. The external appearance is similar, but the
foot is absolutely rigid. For this case, surgery is the only solution. |
